Johanna is a Certified Life-Cycle™ Celebrant who works with families and loved ones to write a fitting end to a life story.
I know firsthand how essential it is to honor the passing of a loved one through ritual. I believe that a meaningful ceremony should reflect the life, values, and unique spirit of the individual being remembered. Whether a family seeks a traditional service or something deeply personal and unconventional, I work to create ceremonies that feel authentic and true to those they honor. My background in art and design, cultural studies, and science allows me to craft rituals that are both creative and deeply rooted in meaning. While I am experienced in traditional services, I specialize in ceremonies held in unique locations and those that speak to the diverse needs of today’s families—including those seeking LGBTQ+ inclusive, spiritually diverse, or outside-the-box approaches.
As an advocate for environmentally friendly and alternative after-death practices, I also support individuals who wish to explore and pre-plan their final arrangements. By connecting people with options that align with their values and priorities, I help ease the burden on their loved ones, ensuring they can focus on remembrance rather than logistical stress.
